Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle Solutions
Use Audesse’s controller and connectivity platform to take hydrogen fuel cell vehicles from prototype to fleet with faster integration, coordinated power management, and remote insight into every vehicle.

OEM Problems
A hydrogen fuel cell vehicle combines a fuel cell system, a high voltage battery, and a high pressure fuel system, and all three have to work as one. Audesse offers ready-made solutions for these common problems:
| Common Problems | Audesse’s Solution |
|---|---|
| Fuel Cell & Battery Power Split | The FlexCase can act as the vehicle’s supervisory controller, coordinating power requests between the fuel cell system and the high voltage battery over CAN. Balance stack durability, battery state of charge, and range with control strategies developed in Simulink or C. |
| Hydrogen System Monitoring | Read hydrogen leak sensors, tank pressure, and tank temperature, and supervise shutoff valves as part of your vehicle’s hydrogen safety concept. Our controllers are designed to support functions up to an ASIL D safety rating. |
| Thermal Management & Cold Start | Fuel cell stacks need tight temperature control. Use FlexCase outputs to drive coolant pumps, fans, and heaters, and run cold start and freeze protection routines while the vehicle is parked. |
| Refuelling | Shared hydrogen dispensers are a limited resource. FlexConnect reads each vehicle’s hydrogen level and helps schedule refuelling windows across the fleet so vehicles are ready for their next dispatch. |
| Advanced Software | Our state of the art controllers are designed to support advanced vehicles up to an ASIL D safety rating on 12 & 24V nominal systems. Use FlexConnect to collect actionable data and push updates remotely and securely. |

Two-Way Control with FlexConnect
Most telematics only reads data and shows it on a dashboard. FlexConnect also sends control policies back to the FlexCase that runs the function. The cloud sets the rule, the FlexCase enforces it locally, and it keeps enforcing it when the cellular connection drops.
Every remote command is a supervisory request, such as a limit, a schedule, or an enable. The FlexCase keeps final authority over the vehicle, and commands can be authenticated from the cloud all the way to the controller that executes them.
FlexConnect for Hydrogen Fleets
Refuelling Coordination: Schedule refuelling windows across vehicles sharing a dispenser so each one is ready for its next route.
Power Split Policies: Adjust each vehicle’s fuel cell and battery power split, for example to protect stack life or hold a battery reserve, with the FlexCase enforcing it locally.
Thermal Protection While Parked: Run cold start preparation and freeze protection when vehicles sit in cold yards.
Stack Health & Updates: Track stack hours and faults across the fleet, and push calibration updates over the air.
Hydrogen Fleet Scenario: Shared Refuelling
Consider an illustrative depot running a fleet of fuel cell buses from a single hydrogen dispenser. Every bus needs enough hydrogen for its next route, but only one can fill at a time, and back-to-back fills slow the station down.
With FlexConnect, each vehicle’s FlexCase reports its hydrogen level, battery state of charge, and stack hours. The cloud sets a refuelling order and a power split policy for each vehicle, and the FlexCase enforces it locally, even when the cellular connection drops. The vehicle’s controller always keeps final authority over its fuel cell and safety functions.
