ABS & ESC Software Component: Advanced Braking and Stability Control
The Audesse ABS & ESC Software Module is a high-performance, safety-critical application designed to provide both advanced anti-lock braking and electronic stability control (ESC) for modern vehicle platforms. This modular software stack enables OEMs to rapidly deploy performant braking and vehicle dynamics logic across various hardware configurations.

Key Software & Control Features
- Electronic Stability Control (ESC): Utilizes an integrated ASIL (when applicable) 6-axis IMU to monitor vehicle dynamics and provide active stability intervention.
- Yaw Control: Features dynamic stability enhancement via differential braking to maintain the driver’s intended path.
- Multi-Axle Support: Fully configurable for 2, 4, or 6-wheel vehicle architectures.
- Versatile Braking Logic:
- Supports serving as the primary brake controller or working alongside an existing controller to add ABS/ESC functionality.
- Ability to pass through brake control signals directly or send independent signals to each individual brake.
- Traction Control Support: Provides essential wheel speed logic required for a Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) to manage Traction Control.
- Intelligent Diagnostics: Includes a comprehensive self-test algorithm on startup and real-time fault detection.
Validated Safety & Performance
The Audesse ABS & ESC module is engineered to meet the most rigorous industry standards for reliability:
- SAE J46 Validated: Software performance has been tested and validated to the SAE J46 equivalent standard.
- Functional Safety Analysis: The module is designed for ASIL D (ISO 26262), the industry standard for braking systems.
- EMC: The module is tested against CISPR25, ISO 7637-2, ISO 11452-2, ISO 11452-4, and ISO 10605
Implementation Note: While the application has been previously validated, additional work or testing may be required for new implementations and vehicle integrations depending on the level of changes required.
Hardware Compatibility: FlexCase E & G
Built on top of the standard Audesse FlexCase bootloader and firmware, this module is designed to run natively on Audesse’s ruggedized hardware platforms.
FlexCase E: This module can be deployed to a specialized variant of the FlexCase E, utilizing its IP67-rated enclosure and 64-pin connector. It is optimized for standard ABS/ESC applications requiring reliable control in a compact form factor.
FlexCase G: For more demanding deployments, the software is fully compatible with the high-performance FlexCase G platform, offering expanded I/O and higher processing power while maintaining the critical safety features of the ABS/ESC stack.
Implementation Note: To ensure functional safety targets are fully realized in a vehicle-level integration, Audesse recommends a Volume Production Agreement. This includes a consultation phase to verify the final production plan and safety case.
